This January probably won t go down in the record books as the snowiest ever.
The month s snowfall is more than two inches short of the record, there s less than 24 hours left, and today s weather is expected to be sunny.
You re not going to get any snow [today], Jon Pacheco, a meteorologist with AccuWeather, Inc., said yesterday.
So far this month, Toledo has gotten 28.2 inches of snow, nearly half of them on Jan. 22. While far above the month s normal 10.8 inches, that total is still a bit short of the record.
Set in 1978, when the area experienced a blizzard, the record snowfall for January is 30.8 inches. The total snowfall for this winter, 38.7 inches, is already above the average, 36.6 inches.
February should be off to a snow-free start. Mr. Pacheco said the next week will be dry and warm, with temperatures in the upper 30s, a bit above normal.
