Slug: ROV fullmoon25p Date: 09/24/2007 The Blade/Andy Morrison Location: Maumee Caption: A nearly full moon rises of the monument at Fallen Timbers in Maumee, Monday, 09/24/2007. Summary:

The three figures atop the Battle of Fallen Timbers Monument in Maumee witness the nearly full moon - the harvest moon - rising in the fall sky. The harvest moon is the first full moon after the autumnal equinox. Unlike full moons most of the year, it rises around sunset, so 'it's around for more of the night at harvest time,' said Nancy Morrison, director of the Ritter Observatory at the University of Toledo.
