NWS issues flood warning for Tiffin River

The National Weather Service extended the flood warning for the Tiffin River near Stryker, which impacts Defiance, Fulton and Williams counties.

The recent snowmelt and runoff may result in major flooding in this region.

The warning will remain in effect until Wednesday morning. At 6 a.m. Saturday the stage was at 12 feet and rising. Minor flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. Flood stage is 11 feet.

The river will crest at 12.1 feet around 8 p.m. Saturday and fall below flood stage around 8 a.m. Tuesday. At 12 feet, portions of St. Rt. 66 flood north of Archbold.
