N.W. Ohio under flash-flood warnings

6/19/2011

The National Weather Service has posted flood and flash-flood warnings for parts of northwest Ohio Sunday yesterday afternoon after slow-moving thunderstorms dropped as much as three inches of rain in an hour.

The flash-flood warning area covers parts of Fulton, Henry, and Defiance counties, while flood warnings were posted for a swath of the area stretching from Whitehouse and Bowling Green to Bellevue and Willard, Ohio. Runoff from the heavy rain was expected to flood small streams and creeks and, in urban areas, affect low-lying and poor-drainage areas. The flood warning is effective until 11 p.m., and the flash-flood warning until 11:15 p.m.
