TEMPERANCE -- The National Weather Service for Detroit/Pontiac said a weather spotter in Temperance reported a funnel cloud between 3:45 and 3:50 p.m. yesterday.

The weather service says the funnel cloud was part of a cluster of showers that were accompanied by wind gusts at nearly 40 mph. Monroe County authorities said minor damage was reported. The weather warning system was activated at 3:56 p.m. and the all-clear sounded 30 minutes later.

Alan D. Frank, director of Monroe County Central Dispatch, said numerous reports of funnel clouds were reported in the Temperance area bounded by Erie, Crabb, and Temperance roads.
