Toledo Club hosts annual Party in the Parking Lot

    • The 29th annual Party in the Parking Lot is from 6 p.m. to midnight Friday at the Toledo Club, 235 14th St.

    The 21-and-older event features music by Satisfaction, a Rolling Stones tribute band. Tickets can be purchased for $15 in advance from etix.com, at the door, or by calling 419-243-2200. For information, see bit.ly/​2eRCp2f.

    Satisfaction, which began as a tribute band about 16 years ago, performs as many as 150 shows a year. It has been featured in Rolling Stone and Showbiz magazines, and has appeared on the CBS Sunday Morning news. Scheduled warm-up acts are the Chefs of Dixieland featuring Ragtime Rick; Candice Coleman & Chris Brown, and Buddy Love & the Coconuts.

    ■ Detroiters Harmonica Shah, a master of traditional blues harp, and singer-guitarist Glemie Beasley will perform at 8 p.m. Friday at Third Street Cigar, 20 N. 3rd St., Waterville.

    The two will be backed by the Third Street Cigar house band, featuring Larry Gold on guitar, Johnny “HiFi” Newmark on bass, and Curtis Grant on drums. The show lasts until 11:30 p.m.

    Shah was born in California and lived in Texas before moving to Detroit in 1967. He began playing the harmonica in 1976 while driving a taxi, drawing upon the influence of his grandfather, Sam Dawson, who made early blues recordings as a guitarist and harmonica player.

    Beasley began his career in 1960 playing guitar with Big Jack Reynolds. He also has played with blues artists Washboard Willie, Eddie Burns, Little Sonny, Little Junior Cannaday, and Bobo Jenkins.     ■ The Verve Pipe, a multi-platinum alternative rock band known for several radio hits and its No. 1 single, “The Freshmen,” performs at Hensville, on St. Clair Street across from Fifth Third Field, at 8 p.m. Sunday. Tickets, which are $18 for general lawn admission, can be purchased online at bit.ly/​2y1frhF.

    The Verve Pipe has a new lineup, but is led by singer-songwriter-founder Brian Vander Ark.

    Doors open at 5 p.m. Music begins at 6 p.m. with Jeff Stewart, and continues at 6:45 p.m. with Last Born Sons. For information, go to hensvilletoledo.org. Lawn chairs are permitted. There also will be limited first-come, first-served seating on Fleetwood's Patio adjacent to the concert venue.
