Archbold

•RAD For Women, Oak Openings Preserve, Oak Openings Lodge, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 12, 19, and 26. A three-session program on the Rape Aggression Defense System, a national program in self defense tactics instructed by Metropark rangers. For women 18 and over (ages 13-17 welcome with parent). •Autumn Adventure: Dunes Hike, Oak Openings Preserve, Buehner Center Porch, 2 p.m. Oct. 14. Hike the Red Trail to the distinctive sandy habitat that many rare species call home.

•Haunted Bike Ride, Oak Openings Preserve, Buehner Center, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 16. For families with children 12 and under. Come dressed in-bike safe costumes for a three- or five-mile ride on a "haunted" trail. Celebrate Halloween with stories, ghosts and goblins.
