Disabilities board has 1 applicant for vacancy

WAUSEON - A retired unemployment claims adjudicator was the only applicant to submit a resume by last week's deadline for the Fulton County Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities board seat that is to be vacated by Dr. John Both on Dec. 31.

Dale Morgan, an Army veteran and Church of Christ minister who has lived in Wauseon for 20 years, is retired from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

His wife, Connie, is employed by Triangular Processing, which is part of the county's disabilities program, as a client-worker, he wrote in his letter to Fulton County Probate Court Judge Michael Bumb.

Judge Bumb's appointment to the four-year term, which runs from Jan. 1, 2007, to Dec. 31, 2010, is required by state law to be someone who has an immediate family member eligible for disabilities services.

Dr. Both, who is the senior member of the seven-member board, told officials that he did not wish to be reappointed because of family issues and time constraints.

The board provides services for about 300 people, ranging from once-a-year consultations to 24-hour care, with about 50 employees and a $4.4 million annual budget.
