Student of the Week: Victor Renaldo Dale, Jr., Rogers High School

Victor Renaldo Dale, Jr., a senior from Toledo, will begin his college career with 48 credit hours already completed through the Post Secondary Options Program, majoring in journalism. His career goal is become a writer, own his own newspaper, and publish his poetry.

Victor has a 4.10 grade-point average and enjoys philosophy, English, and reading poetry.

He is the recipient of the Connecting Point Triumph Award and the President's Award; is a member of the National Honor Society; has been on the Principal's List-Honor roll every quarter, and is on the Dean's List at the University of Toledo.

Victor is senior class president, vice-president of Student African-American Brotherhood, newspaper editor, Challenge Day Leader, and a member of the football, basketball, and baseball teams. He takes an active role in the high school's blood drives and the toy and book drives.

"Victor has proven himself a leader, both in academic and social causes," said Katie Peters, English teacher. "He refuses to compromise his own moral integrity to please others, and isn't embarrassed about his academic prowess. Victor knows that his education is his key to a brilliant future."

Victor is the son of Victor R. Dale, Sr., and the late Christina Lynn Williams.
