Archbold's Parade of Lights to be tonight; festival follows

11/22/2007

ARCHBOLD - Floats, trucks, antique cars, bicycles, school buses, fire engines, and farm equipment glowing with lights will be featured during a sparkling parade tonight in the village of Archbold in Fulton County.

Sponsored by the Archbold Area Chamber of Commerce, the 9th annual Parade of Lights begins at 6:30 p.m. as more than 50 entries from communities throughout northwest Ohio begin to roll along the 1.5-mile route.

Special guests are actresses Alison Stoner, who plays the role of Max on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, and Lindsay Taylor, featured in the movie Bratz and in the television show 7th Heaven. Both actresses will be on the Fulton County Special Olympics float.

The Archbold band, decorated in lights, will play holiday music along the parade route, which runs from North Archbold (starting at Walnut Strett and North Defiance Street) and ends at Lugbill Road and South Defiance Street.

A main attraction after the parade will be the Festival of Lights in the village's Ruihley Park. There is no admission fee for drivers or walkers who meander through the park, with more than 40 holiday light displays.
