Sylvania, Sylvania Township focus forum will look at communities future

2/6/2008

Growth, development, and the outlook for the city of Sylvania and Sylvania Township will be the focus of the third annual "We Love Sylvania" community focus forum on Valentine's Day.

Scheduled to get under way at 8 a.m. in the Olander Park Nederhouser Community Hall, 6930 Sylvania Ave., the event is the first of several forums planned this year by the Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce's community action committee.

The forum will feature Lucas County Commissioner Tina Skeldon Wozniak, Sylvania Mayor Craig Stough, and Hugh Thomas, administrator of Sylvania Township. After the officials present their remarks, a question-and-answer period will follow.

Pat Nowak, executive director of the chamber, said chamber members and others in the business community in the Sylvania area "are curious about a number of topics. This forum furthers community dialogue about the opportunities and challenges that northwest Ohio suburban cities face and seeks open communication to find best practices and common synergy."

A continental breakfast will be served at the start of the forum, which will run about an hour.

Reservations can be made by contacting the chamber office.
