Want fotos of people making the blankets that will be given to the Lucas County Children's Services for distribution to foster children. Some people will be sewing blankets, others will be doing their work without the aid of machines. Sponsors are donating machines, scissors, space, money, etc., for blankets. About 40 were made during Blanket Day last year, and the chapter hopes to make more this year.

    • A number of volunteers spent time Saturday as part of a national effort to bring warmth and security to children. It was Make a Blanket Day for Project Linus. Members of the Toledo/Lucas County Chapter convened at Charlie's Pizza in Saxon Square to make upward of 40 blankets for the cause. Tammy Hochradel, seated, of Toledo and Germaine Kirk of Sylvania Township lay out strips on a quilt.

    Nancy Fowler of Sylvania makes a final adjustment to a nearly finished product. The mission of Project Linus, with national headquarters in Bloomington, Ill., is to provide a sense of security, and comfort to children who are seriously ill or traumatized. Locally, the handmade blankets and quilts will be given to foster children.
