Flowers are in bloom, and so are the fertile imaginations of youths such as those who attended a special program at Olander Park last week. A cooperative project between the park and the Sylvania Branch Library, 'Fabulous Flowers' introduced children aged 3 through 6 to care and feeding of plants. From left, Molly Mouch, Lily Simone, Ashley Newsom, and Sara Robbins, each from Sylvania, pretend they are plants sprouting from seeds, reaching for the sky.
Children's librarian Mary Leugers reads the book 'Flora's Surprise,' explaining the nature of planting, to the children.
