Student of the Week: Leah Perlmutter

Leah Perlmutter, a senior from Toledo, plans to enroll in a small liberal arts college and is considering Colby University in Maine. She enjoys science, philosophy, and English and has a 4.6 grade-point average.

The recipient of high achievement awards in several areas of mathematics, Leah is the recipient of the Most Improved Player Award in tennis, and is a member of the chess, tennis, and lacrosse teams. She is involved in Dance for a Chance, an event that raises money for charitable organizations.

"Leah is a young woman with immense talent who takes such joy in learning," said Katherine Myers, Spanish teacher. "Her intellectual ability and her creativity set her apart from her peers."

Leah is the daughter of David and Debbie Perlmutter.
