PRODIGY OF PRIZE-WINNERS IN BERKEY

Maria Lucarelli, 12, gives a wave to a duck and ducklings at her home in Berkey. These may seem like ordinary Mallard ducklings, but they aren't. They're the descendants of champions. Maria and her sister, Heidi, 16, earned Best of Show honors at the Fulton County Fair last year with the mother and father duck, who then were released but returned to the Lucarelli home to give birth to the brood. Maria and Heidi are members of the Nifty 4-Hers Club in Assumption, Ohio.
