ARCHBOLD - The Archbold Area Schools' board of education is seeking a replacement for David Yoder, who is resigning Monday to devote more time to family.

In a statement to board President Scott Miller, Mr. Yoder cited "increased family commitments," as the reason for his resignation. Mr. Yoder was serving his third term, which will expire Dec. 31, 2009. He has served as a board member since 2000.

"Our entire community offers our thanks to Mr. Yoder for his dedication and commitment," Superintendent Dave Deskins said. "He has been instrumental in helping our district respond favorably during extremely difficult financial times."

The board of education will accept applications for the position until 4 p.m. Monday. Interviews will be scheduled shortly thereafter. The board will appoint a replacement at its Dec. 15 meeting.

Applicants must be district residents and registered voters. Interested parties should contact Mr. Deskins at 419-446-2728.
