St. Francis de Sales High School will hold its annual Italian Dinner at 6 p.m.Jan. 31 at the school, 2323 West Bancroft St. The event is sponsored by the SFS Alumni Association and Sofo Foods. The cost is $35 and includes an authentic Italian dinner with beer, wine, and soft drinks specially prepared and served by the Peer Brothers. Proceeds go to benefit the alumni scholarship fund. A Dining to Donate benefit will be held from 11 a.m. to11 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Applebee s Restaurant on Monroe St. The benefit is for the Caring Alternative Sexual Assault Recovery Program, which offers support to survivors of sexual assault, incest, and molestation in the form of group support and individual counseling. The goal of the program is to help victims successfully move from the initial crisis into recovery as a survivor. The program does not receive outside funding and is solely funded by donations. The Stitches Doll Project will be on display through Jan. 28 at the Monroe County Community College s Whitman Center, 7777 Lewis Ave., Temperance. Created in July 1999 by two AIDS educators and activists for the state of Michigan, the Stitches Doll Project was designed for women living with HIV infection as a means of providing a safe place for affected women from around the country to voice their feelings about living with HIV. Each doll includes an answer from its creator to the question If your doll could talk what would she say? Viewing hours are 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Fridays, and 8:30 a.m.-noon Saturdays.
