West Toledo library to mark 80th birthday

3/23/2010

One of Toledo's oldest libraries is reaching its 80th year of operation this year, and a celebratory party has been scheduled for next week.

The West Toledo Branch Library, 1320 West Sylvania Ave., opened on March 30, 1930, and over the years has been a centerpiece of its neighborhood, which has come to be known as Library Village. It was remodeled in 2001.

To mark the occasion, the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library will have an anniversary party at the branch from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
