Lucas County to begin foster care, adoption classes Sept. 7

Lucas County Children Services is offering two sessions of foster care and adoption preservice training this fall.

Classes are from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 7 though Oct. 19. There also will be Saturday sessions from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 2 through Nov. 20.

The agency is seeking adults and families who can provide stable homes for teens and older children, youth with behavioral, developmental, or physical challenges and groups of three or more brothers and sisters.

To qualify to be a foster or adoptive parent, individuals must be at least 18 years of age to adopt, 21 to become a foster parent.
