The Washington Local School District surprised Frank Erme last week during the 21st Annual Candlelight Walk for Drug Free Schools, which coincided with his 82nd birthday. Mr. Erme, escorted by Assistant Superintendent Cherie Mourlam, receives a round of applause from the crowd in the stands at Whitmer High School's athletic field. Known as ‘Mr. Whitmer,' he has more than 50 combined years of service as a Washington Local teacher, coach, associate principal, athletic director, and board member.
