The Oakleaf Village senior community in Sylvania has established two $500 scholarships for college-bound seniors attending the city's two high schools whose lives have "been touched by a senior citizen."

Applicants must have maintained a grade-point average of at least 2.5, be accepted into college or other post-secondary education, and write an essay of 250 words describing how their relationships with senior citizens affected their lives. An optional letter of recommendation may be included with the application.

Application forms are available at the school guidance offices. One winner will be chosen from both Southview and Northview high. Winners will be announced during the schools' awards dinner in June.
