Attorney General arrives in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Iraq Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, a key architect of U.S. policy on the treatment of prisoners and the rule of law in Iraq, arrived in Baghdad today.

Gonzales, a former White House counsel, was holding meetings in the heavily fortified Green Zone, which houses Iraq s government and the U.S. Embassy, U.S. Embassy spokeswoman Elizabeth Colton said. Meetings would include Deputy Prime Minister Barham Saleh and U.S. Justice Department officials working in Iraq.
