Moderate 5.2 earthquake rocks southern Mexico area, no injuries or damage reported

MEXICO CITY — A moderate 5.21 earthquake has rocked parts of southern Mexico, but there are no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

Mexico’s National Seismology Institute says the temblor struck at 10:27 a.m. and was centered less than 3 miles south of Coyuca de Benitez in the southern state of Guerrero. Mexico City Mayor Miguel Angel Mancera also reported the quake on his official Twitter account, saying the temblor wasn’t felt in the nation’s capital.
