Advice for Tonight: Look Up

Oh, come on. Surely you can take a few minutes out of your busy schedule to check this out tonight.

You know, I used to think a harvest moon simply meant the blue-ish orb hung around up in the sky for longer periods than most full moons.

But I was, um, wrong.

What sets [tonight s] full moon apart from the others is that farmers at the climax of the current harvest season can work late into the night by the moon's light. It rises about the time the sun sets, but more importantly, at this time of year, instead of rising its normal average 50 minutes later each day, the moon seems to rise at nearly the same time each night.

Life s short enough as it is. Go on, slow down and admire the night sky...
