The turf replacement is under way

7/14/2008

The University of Toledo has begun the process to replace its artificial surface in the Glass Bowl. A crew started tearing out the old surface today and it will be replaced with FieldTurf before the home opener on Sept. 21 against Fresno State.

Still waiting for more information on a timeline, but the university did cancel some events in August that were supposed to be on the field and it's unclear whether the team will get much practice in before the season starts. The University of Arizona has a grass surface at Arizona Stadium but I believe Eastern Michigan plays on a grass surface so it would be good to get some practice time in before that.
