Stock listings move to Blade Web site

8/29/2007

The daily stock listings and mutual fund tables no longer will appear in the printed Blade.

Many newspapers nationally already have made the change, in part because it has become more common for people to get stock and mutual fund information through the Internet.

Instead, the paper will publish a short list of Stocks of Local Interest each day and on Sunday in the Business section.

The Sunday table includes interest rates, foreign currencies, and commodities, as well as some stock market information.

Readers wanting to check on any stocks or mutual funds each day can find them on the paper's Web site, at toledoblade.com/business.

The listings will have updated prices, plus background information on the companies and funds, throughout the day.

Readers who do not own computers can find them in many public places, such as libraries and senior citizen centers.
