Ohio CPAs predict ongoing weak economy

12/10/2008

Ohio s economy will be week through at least the first half of 2009 and perhaps for the full year, according to an annual poll by the Ohio Society of certified public accounts.

More than 500 CPAs took part in the survey of state business conditions in November. About three-quarters percent said they expect a decrease in capital investments in 2009, and 80 percent expect Ohio s job growth to lag the rest of the United States. About three-fifths said Ohio s small businesses do not have access to adequate credit to sustain and expand their companies through 2009.
