DETROIT - The bets are off in Detroit, where the three state-licensed casinos report a 5.8 percent drop in revenues for the latest month.
The Michigan Gaming Control Board said yesterday the casinos took in $106.9 million in bets in January, compared with $113.5 million in January 2008.
The Greektown Casino was hardest hit. Its revenue fell 11.6 percent from $27.5 million to $24.3 million.
MotorCity Casino reported a 6.5 percent drop in bets, from $39.4 million to $36.8 million.
MGM Grand Detroit Casino said its gambling revenue fell 1.9 percent, from $46.6 million to $45.8 million
