FirstMerit Corp. has hired Rob A. Thomas vice president for commercial banking in the Toledo region.

Hawaiian Pool Builders, Maumee, received two gold and one silver awards from the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals Region 6. The gold awards were for the fountain at the clock tower at the Town Center at Levis Commons retail development and a custom pool at a home in Holland.

The silver award was in recognition of a pool at Sauder Heritage Inn at Sauder Village, Archbold.
