SANDUSKY — Cedar Point’s newest attraction, the $5 million WindSeeker ride that originally was expected to debut a month ago at the park’s 2011 opening, has finally opened to the public after wet and windy weather disrupted construction of the ride.

The Dutch-designed thrill ride, which spins 64 riders atop a 301-foot tower, opened at 8 p.m. Tuesday after testing and certification by state safety inspectors and a quick ribbon-cutting ceremony by Cedar Fair Chief Executive Dick Kinzel. Construction was completed over the weekend and the ride went into a testing phase with Cedar Point workers.
