Pharmacy benefits firm to buy rival for $29.1B
7/22/2011ST. LOUIS — Express Scripts Inc., the St. Louis-based pharmacy benefit manager, announced yesterday that it plans to buy a competitor — Medco Health Solutions Inc. — in a deal worth $29.1 billion in cash and stock.
The new entity would become the largest pharmacy benefit manager in the nation and propel Express Scripts into the ranks of one of the largest U.S. companies.
