Dana, Libbey report profit increases

Dana Holding Corp. said Thursday it had a second-quarter profits of $61 million, or 32 cents a share, up from the $1 million profit, or less than one penny a share for the same period last year.

The Maumee automotive supplier said it had sales for the quarter of $1.9 billion, up 25 percent from the $1.5 billion a year earlier.

In addition, Dana announced that it had signed agreements to divest its interests in two joint ventures to Getrag Corp. in return for $136 million in cash.

Toledo tableware manufacturer Libbey Inc. Thursday reported second-quarter profits of $15.4 million, or 74 cents a share, up 61 percent from the $9.6 million, or 47 cents a share, from the same period a year ago.

The company said it had sales for the quarter of $214 million, up 5 percent from the $203 million a year ago.
