Former Vreba-Hoff land in Lenawee County sold

An auction of more than 417 acres of prime farmland in Lenawee County’s Ogden and Medina townships sold Tuesday for $1.76 million, according to the Indiana auction firm that conducted the sale of land formerly owned by Midwest AG Investments LLC, the real estate subsidiary of Wauseon-based Vreba-Hoff Dairy Development LLC.

An additional 370 agricultural acres of land owned by Midwest AG Investments in St. Joseph County, Michigan, sold for almost $2.5 million in a separate auction there Tuesday to repay more than $9 million owed by the megadairy development firm. The auction firm, Halderman Real Estate Services, of Wabash, Ind., said the buyers will be revealed at closing.
