ATLANTA — Officials at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport say the airport’s international passenger traffic for last year set a record.
Authorities say year-end statistics from 2011 show that the number of international passengers increased by nearly 8 percent from the previous year, to 9.86 million from 9.14 million.
They said the previous record was 9.18 million, set in 2008. The airport is to open a new international terminal this spring.
