Findlay auto-parts plant faces 13 safety violations
3/30/2012FINDLAY -- Sanoh America Inc. has been cited by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for 13 safety violations at its Findlay auto-parts plant. The proposed penalties total $83,000.
The citations accuse the manufacturer of exposing workers to fire hazards, dangerous fumes, and other safety hazards.
An Oct. 4 inspection found the plant's plating line had caught fire during production earlier in the year. No injuries were reported. OSHA cited the company for a repeat violation for failing to develop, document, and utilize procedures to control potentially hazardous energy in relation to the incident. A similar violation was cited at the company's Mount Vernon, Ohio, facility in 2009.
The company has 15 business days from receipt of its citations and penalties to comply, request an informal conference with OSHA's area director, or contest the findings.
