LIMA, Ohio — Sign Source USA, a Lima custom-sign manufacturer, has been cited with 26 safety and health violations by the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration. It proposed fines totalling $67,400.

The company has 15 business days from receipt of its citations and penalties to comply, request an informal conference with OSHA's area director, or contest the findings.

Violations found at an inspection in December included failure to remove wood and metal scraps from work areas, failure to provide machine guarding on router tables, failure to provide forklift training, and failure to require that proper protective equipment be worn during welding operations. OSHA also noted violations that involve fire and explosion hazards.
