A Perrysburg firm has been fined $72,820 by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for safety violations at a job site in Columbus Grove, Ohio.

OSHA cited Stillion Brothers Excavation Inc. for five safety violations for failing to protect workers from trench cave-ins. Two of the violations were considered "willful."

A willful violation is one committed intentionally or with voluntary disregard for the law's requirements, or with plain indifference to worker safety.

OSHA initiated an inspection of the work sites on Dec. 15.

Stillion Brothers has 15 business days from receipt of its citation to comply, request a conference with OSHA, or contest the findings.
