SANDUSKY -- For the first time in four years, Cedar Fair LP will leave Ohio to hold its annual shareholder meeting.

The Sandusky-based amusement park and water park chain announced that it will hold the meeting June 27 at the Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge in Charlotte, not far from the company's Caro- winds amusement park.

The company, which owns 11 parks, including the flagship Cedar Point, plus six water parks and five hotels, has held its meeting in Erie County the last three years. In 2008, it was in Buena Park, Calif., near the firm's Knott's Berry Farm amusement park.

Stacy Frole, Cedar Fair's head of investor relations, said the company chose North Carolina to give investors a chance to visit Carowinds, which the company obtained in 2006.

The meeting will be the first to be presided over by new Chief Executive Officer Matt Ouimet, who attended last year's annual meeting as the company's new president.

Ms. Frole said Cedar Fair is looking at rotating the annual meeting more often to sites near some of its parks.
