The federal agency that monitors workplace safety has fined Perrysburg-based Trans Tech Logistics Inc. $69,000 for multiple safety violations at two truck maintenance facilities in West Virginia.

The Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration said the violations included the company not providing facilities for flushing of eyes and body where employees are exposed to corrosive materials, not providing first-aid training or supplies, and not ensuring the use of safety goggles and foot protection. All 17 violations were classified as serious — a designation OSHA makes when a violation creates “substantial probability that death or serious physical harm could result from a hazard about which the employer knew or should have known.”

Trans Tech Logistics has 15 days to pay the penalty and correct the citations, or to contest the findings.
