Owens-Illinois Inc. has been awarded a $3 million state grant as part of a larger project to bulk up its global research facilities in Perrysburg.The Ohio Department of Development said the grant from the state's Third Frontier program would help Owens-Illinois create 45 jobs with an average salary of $75,000 a year. The project is also expected to create 55 contract jobs that could lead to full-time employment.
O-I spokesman Stephanie Johnston said the grant is part of a much larger investment by the bottle maker to expand its research and development capabilities.
