Free bus ride to Detroit veterans jobs fair

Free transportation is being offered to veterans to attend a Veterans Hiring Fair in Detroit today and Thursday, U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D., Toledo) and the Lucas County Board of Commissioners announced.

The bus leaves The Source, at 1301 Monroe St., in downtown Toledo, at 8:30 a.m., and leaves Detroit at 4:30 a.m., today and Thursday.

Space on the bus is available on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve a seat, call the Source at 419-213-5627.

The hiring fair, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, is drawing thousands of visitors to Cobo Center in downtown Detroit.

The fair connects veterans to job openings around the country. Veterans can also get information about health care and other services, and even and provide information on other services, including health care. The event is also open to current military personnel.
