Wholesale prices rise 0.3% in July from June

WASHINGTON -- U.S. wholesale prices as measured by the producer price index increased a seasonally adjusted 0.3 percent in July from June, the Labor Department reported Tuesday.

The increase followed a 0.1 percent gain in June. The index measures price changes before they reach the consumer.

Wholesale prices have risen 0.5 percent in the past 12 months, the least since October, 2009.
