The Andersons Inc. said Monday that it has constructed a 3.8 million-bushel elevator in Custer County, Nebraska, that will be open in time for the 2012 harvest. The elevator is the first the Maumee-based agribusiness has constructed in Nebraska and is on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railway.

Officials of The Andersons' grain group said that with the addition of the elevator, which is in the center of the state, the company has increased its storage capacity to nearly 113 million bushels in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, and Nebraska.
