OAK HARBOR — Technicians from the Davis-Besse nuclear power station will test the plant's 54 emergency-alert sirens this week, the Ottawa County Emergency Management Agency said.

The tests consist of sounding each siren individually for about 30 seconds, during which maximum sound output is measured. Sirens are within a 10-mile radius of Davis-Besse.

If residents hear several sirens sounding at the same time for extended periods during these tests, they should tune in to an Emergency Alert System radio station for information or instructions.
