CINCINNATI — Construction on a global consumer-data company's new downtown Cincinnati headquarters is set to begin Jan. 31.

DunhumbyUSA's headquarters will sit in the heart of downtown and will have five floors of office space, room for commercial development, and a parking garage for 1,000 cars.

The project is set to cost about $36 million and will be built on city property that is currently a surface parking lot.

In order to retain dunhumbyUSA in Cincinnati, the city approved up to $12 million in tax incentives that will go to the company through 2019.

DunhumbyUSA started as three employees in 2003 and now has more than 500.

The company, a joint venture of Cincinnati-based Kroger and London-based dunnhumby, analyzes consumer habits for companies including Macy's, Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola and PepsiCo.
