ACHIEVEMENTS

■ Jon Taylor, a vice president for FirstEnergy Corp., has been named the company’s controller and chief accounting officer, effective May 1. He succeeds Harvey L. Wagner, who is retiring.

■ Jon B. Liebenthal has joined Toledo law firm Eastman & Smith Ltd. as a member. A lawyer for more than 25 years, he focuses on business, tax and estate planning, mergers and acquisitions, business formation, and general corporate matters.

■ Brian Kotula of UPS was elected to the board of directors of the Safety Council of Northwest Ohio. Re-elected to the board were W.H. “Chip” Carstensen, Block Communications; Sandra Rabie, ProMedica; Rick Monto, Maumee fire chief; John Fisher, Law Office of John B. Fisher, LLC; Judge Amy Berling, Toledo Municipal Court; Kim Nelson, OSHA; Sue Parkins, Chrysler Group LLC; James Gilmore, Owens Community College, and Craig Stough, Sylvania mayor.

■ Steve Dolgin has been named project manager for the Jennite Co. He had been owner and president of Buckeye Asphalt Paving Co.

■ Dragutin “Dan” Peric was named division silicones operations manager for Wacker Chemical Corp. in Adrian. He had been with Dow Chemical Co.
