Edison: Woodville Mall owes nearly $300,000

Toledo Edison says it is owed close to $300,000 for electricity supplied to the shuttered Woodville Mall in Northwood.

In a complaint filed Thursday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court, the utility company claims Woodville Mall Realty Management owes it $286,140 in unpaid electric bills. It is asking the court to order payment with interest as well as legal costs.

The dilapidated mall portion of the structure has been closed for more than a year. A Sears store that is attached to the mall remains open.

The Andersons Inc., which operated a store attached to the mall, closed in February, in part because of the mall’s poor condition.
