5 area employers named for guard, reserve support

Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve announced that several area firms are among those nominated for the 2013 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award.

The award is the highest recognition for employers who support employees serving in the Ohio Guard and Reserve.

The winners will be announced in August. Among the companies nominated are Whirpool Corp. (Clyde), Cooper Tire & Rubber (Findlay), Lowe’s Co. Inc. (Findlay), Marathon Petroleum Corp. (Findlay), and Lucas County Job & Family Services (Toledo).
