Dana Holding Corp. said this morning that it made $85 million in the year's second quarter, up about 8 percent from last year.
The company's sales were down again in the second quarter to $1.8 billion. Last year sales were $1.9 billion. Dana said the decrease was primarily because of products that it no longer sells, as well as currency effects.
On a per-share basis, the $85 million works out to 44 cents per share. Dana earned $79 million, or 40 cents per share, in the second quarter of 2012.
The company cut its full-year sales target by $100 million to $7 billion. In 2012, Dana reported sales of $7.2 billion.
Based in Maumee, the company makes a variety of automotive parts for light vehicles, commercial vehicles, and construction equipment.
