COLUMBUS — The Ohio Controlling Board on Monday announced it had approved $1 million in state funding for the Center for Innovative Food Technology in Toledo.

CIFT is a business incubator that works with companies and individuals in the food processing, agribusiness, and agricultural sectors. Its headquarters are on Airport Highway, west of Reynolds Road.

“This is money well spent and I’m thankful we have an opportunity to invest in technology and start-up development that is sure to benefit our local economy,” said state Rep. Michael Ashford (D., Toledo).
